Of course you need the correct size and weight throwing implement for your age group.
If you want to know which weight you should be throwing, please download the list of implements applicable in New South Wales. I compiled this list, and although I took care to be as accurate as possible, I do not take responsibility for its currency and accuracy. If in doubt, please check with the relevant sport body or school association.
Apart from the correct implement, you also need:
An absorbing towel to wipe the wet shot or discus.
A broom to wipe the throwing circle clean.
Shoes with smooth soles for discus and shot put, spikes for javelin. Specialist throws shoes are not necessary for beginners.
